Espoir British & Challenge 2008
Amy Sharp & Shannon Lee both competed in the British Espoir Championships held in Gloucester on 7th June. This is the premiere event for 12/13yr olds in the country and is increasingly more difficulty to qualify for. Nerves got the better of them this time with both girls making uncharacteristic errors. Shannon’s best apparatus was vault where she achieved 6th= place and Amy excelled on the Range and Conditioning Set where she was 4th=. With too many falls to be contention on this occasion they must take heart from the fact that they both have a good level of difficulty in their routines, with more in the pipeline, and with continued hard work they will be able to consolidate this for the future.
Elloise Cundy competed in the British Espoir Challenge held in the same venue the next day. Elloise’s level of work has increased dramatically over the last year and although she was unable to hit all her routines as she would have liked she DID excel on her vault. Her stunningly high tsukahara piked wowed the judges and earned her the silver medal on this apparatus. WELL DONE ELLIE!
