Medals & Finals at Rosebowl 2008
Bristol Hawks fielded a very young team for this years Rushmoor Rosebowl. With the retirement since last year of our Senior Stars Carolyn & Rhian and with Laura only able to compete on bars [as part of the ‘All Stars’ reserves team], it was up to our one and only Senior gymnast, Stacey, to lead the team. Stacey stepped up to the mark brilliantly, posting a personal best score and winning herself a place in both the bars and floor finals. Hannah, who was our youngest member of the team last year, gave us a much needed steady beam performance and showed a return to form on her floor routine. For Amy, Shannon & Claudia the competition provided great experience at this high level and they all contributed to a team score that not only was 5 marks higher than last year but also earned us the bronze medals. We must not forget Laura who although could not be in our team as she was competing on one apparatus only, made her one routine count by earning herself a place in the bar final.
